Welcome to 2018!
With each yoga class, green juice, early night, page of a good book, balanced meal, and yes, precious moment of solitude, I’m finally finding my way back to me. This first week of the year is a lesson for many of us in re-calibrating and re-balancing.
Don't get me wrong: the holidays are full of things to be thankful for. Community, family, rest, giving, and the joy of spending time with loved ones - but they also challenge every good habit we hold dear. After seven days of inching my way back to my centre, I’m beginning to recover my true self.
My wish for you this New Year is not that you stick to every New Year’s resolution (unlikely), but that you nourish and celebrate that inner you, and make time for the things that make you happy right down to the depths of your soul. In a nutshell, that you shed the old habits, the things that don’t work, the people who drag you down, and take steps to becoming the best version of yourself.
A Brand New Acorn
I’m on this journey with you, and to that end, I’m excited to bring you a brand new, revitalized Acorn. With new sections such as Beauty + Wellness, Delicious + Healing Recipes, Quest for Awesome, and an archive of previous articles, the website has never looked better. Please feel free to check in, surf around, and find inspiration for your wellness journey.
Subscribers to the newsletter will also see big changes. You’ll find FRESH IDEAS landing in your in-box on a weekly basis. Articles on healthy living have always been the backbone of The Acorn. Due to popular demand, the articles will now alternate with mouthwatering, healing, great-for-you recipes to nourish your wanderings. This series kicks off next week with Nutrition 102, and the following week with Delicious Nutrition 102: The Recipes.
Gratefully Yours
Finally, thank you, thank you, thank you, dear reader. Your confidence, comments, and enthusiasm for this passion project are my rocket fuel. I love learning about wellness in all its many permutations, but more than that, I love sharing these discoveries with all of you.
YOU are a precious piece of my own journey, and for that I am eternally grateful.
